Dato Lee Chong Wei cvri tumpuan warganet apabila hadir di majlis gradusi pra-sekolah anak

Jaguh badminton dunia Dato Lee Chong Wei menarik perhatian warganet apabila dia telah menghadiri majlis graduasi pra-sekolah anak sulungnya.

Menerusi laman Instagram, Dato Lee Chong Wei berkongsi beberapa keping foto beserta dengan coretannya yang mengimbau saat dia berada di pra-sekolah dulu.

Menurutnya, pada waktu kecil dulu dia tidak mengerti pun apa itu majlis graduasi. Sebaliknya dia cuma mahu terima anugerah secepat mungkin kerana ingin bermain bersama rakan.

Tambahnya lagi, dia masih ingat ada beberapa orang rakannya yang menangis kerana ibu bapa mereka tidak dapat hadir, namun dia hargai kerana ibunya dapat hadir menyaksikan dia menerima anugerah.

31 years ago. I had no mortarboard. No robe. No flowers. Just a six-year-old me, wearing my torn out shoes going in front of the class to receive a certificate for completing my kindergarten studies. I didn’t even know what happened. At that moment, I just wanted to get over it and go out to play with my friends. I remembered some kids are crying. I was not. Only that I was laughing at them. Suddenly I was given a friendly slap at the back of my head. It was my mum. Pulling my ear to one side, telling me not to be such a rascal. She said some of them cried because their parents couldn’t make it. Only then I appreciated my family for being there, even though it was just a simple end of year prize giving ceremony. Certainly not a convocation. I went home. With my cert at one hand. And a 10 cent Popsicle on the other hand. It was a gift from dad. That’s all. We went home happy. Today I went to my son’s kindergarten ‘convocation’. If I wasn’t careful, I thought my son graduated with a bachelor’s degree already. Full graduation robe. Rehearsals. Performances. And most kids coming down from stage were given flowers. Maybe the time has changed. But me and my wife had the same smile like when my parents had for me 31 years ago. Kingston did me proud. He got two awards. Haha, despite not significant, an award is still an award. He is certainly better than me when I was his age. He got an award for spelling. I couldn’t even spell ‘spelling’ when I was six. Joke aside. Seeing him went up stage to collect his award gave me goosebumps. I never had a chance to graduate with a university degree. I hope one day, I can live to see my two sons wear the real mortarboard . #gratefultoteachers #gratefultoheadmistress #gratefultoschool 今天是大儿子Kingston的幼儿园毕业典礼，现在的学习环境和30年前真的不一样了，那个物资匮乏的年代，没有鲜花没有四方帽，很多家长甚至忙着工作没有时间出席孩子的毕业典礼，而我们就这样长大了。 如今，时代进步，看着孩子们在一个更为健全的教育制度和环境下学习很是欣慰，嘉谦这个好动的孩子可以拿到听写奖和表现优秀奖，真的觉得很骄傲，感谢校长、班主任、各位老师循循善诱的指导。????

Namun, dia luahkan rasa bangga dengan anaknya yang telah menerima dua anugerah dan salah satunya ialah anugerah ‘mengeja’.

Dato Lee Chong Wei turut berjenaka memberitahu anaknya jauh lebih baik darinya kerana dia langsung tidak pandai mengeja ketika kecil dulu.

Dalam pada itu, Dato Lee Chong Wei juga menyatakan hasrat agar sempat melihat anak-anaknya menerima anugerah sebenar di universiti.

Today is my second son Terrence’s school sports day. I had appointments, but for my son, I think it is worthwhile to reschedule everything away. Because when I was his age, my parents’ recognition and praises were all i was competing for. I remember one incident during my primary school Hari Sukan, I participated in the 50 meter race. I asked my parents to come for support but they told me they were busy. It didn’t feel good at all preparing for the race as I saw other parents cheering on their own children. Suddenly, I saw my parents ‘spying’ me from a far. They were shy to be in the mix. The moment I saw them, I suddenly had the urge to run my legs off. Children at that age, they don’t require toys and money from us. They only require our time and attention. Btw, he looks good with the medal huh? 今天轮到Terrence学校举办运动会，很早前就把我的时间空出来，有约都推，因为我和儿子有约，要在这一天看小小的他在运动场上的＂英姿＂！ 一大早起床看他准备运动衣穿上运动鞋兴奋的样子，不禁自问他真的懂今天要做什么吗？我的担忧是多余的，一到学校看着他跟着老师的节奏开始热身，哨子声响起认真的跳跃、传球的样子似模似样，觉得很欣慰，有时间陪伴他们成长，真好。

Yesterday is my youngest son Terence’s 4 years old birthday. You have brought nothing but happiness into my life, both of you.
